MSLZM welcomes Katie E. Pakler to the Western PA office

Mintzer Sarowitz Zeris Ledva & Meyers is pleased to announce that Katie E. Pakler has joined the Western Pennsylvania office as an associate.  Katie has experience in various areas of the law, with a concentration on litigation, health care and professional liability.  Katie’s interest in healthcare law and litigation stems from her involvement with her family’s medical supply sale and distribution business. 

Prior to joining MSZL&M Katie practiced in a firm specializing in health care law, with an emphasis in medical staff, transactional and regulatory matters.  Katie has a wealth of experience in dealing with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services.  She also has experience handling issues under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, the Joint Commission Standards, and state law, including the state peer review privilege.  Katie has counseled physician clients regarding claims of negligent credentialing and medical malpractice.  Katie has also collaborated with hospitals and medical groups to draft medical staff documents, peer review manuals and other policies and procedures.

Katie is a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh.  She is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football.  Katie is a competitive runner and participates in the Pittsburgh Marathon and other local races throughout the year.  When not in the office, Katie enjoys traveling and listening to true crime and pop culture podcasts.
