October 2019 | Ms. Hernandez, was appointed to serve as the Hispanic National Bar Association’s National Deputy Vice President of Programs and re-appointed to serve as Deputy Regional President for Region VIII (FL). The HNBA is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students and legal professionals in the United States and its territories. Established in 1972, the HNBA is the largest national association of Latino legal professionals in the United States and its territories and acts as a force for positive change within the legal profession by creating opportunities for Hispanic lawyers and by helping generations of lawyers to succeed. The HNBA also effectively advocates on issues of importance to the national Hispanic community. The Association is led by its Board of Governors, comprised of members of the HNBA Executive Committee, 19 regional presidents and the representatives of affiliate organizations across the country.

Ms. Hernandez has been intricately involved with the HNBA having previously served as National President to the HNBA’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). She began her involvement with the HNBA’s South Florida Mentoring Program in 2012 and has served at as Region VIII (FL) Deputy Regional President and Treasurer amongst other others. In 2017 she was also recognized with the Association’s “Top Lawyers under 40” award which honors accomplished lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.
