Samantha S. Loveland is an attorney in the firm’s Jacksonville office and practices in the areas of transportation (automobile, marine, trucking liability), personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, insurance defense, and other civil litigation matters. Ms. Loveland is an accomplished litigator who is highly specialized in defending high-profile personal injury, medical malpractice, assault, and wrongful death claims in state and federal court. Her extensive trial and case management experience includes being adept at strategy and understanding complex issues. She takes particular pride in her communication with her insurance company clients including case status and paths to early resolution. She has represented the world’s preeminent insurers and their insureds, including the world’s largest cruise lines, marine industry corporations, healthcare providers, and national corporations in a variety of diverse industries. In addition to her background in admiralty & maritime and civil litigation, Ms. Loveland has handled numerous arbitration matters before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Loveland has received much recognition over her legal career, that includes being named by Super Lawyers as a “Florida Rising Star” (2014-2018). Ms. Loveland is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
During law school she performed pro bono work with the Rosemary Barkett American Appellate Inn of Court, where she researched and wrote appellate briefs in the area of unemployment law and presented oral arguments in the Third District Court of Appeal. Ms. Loveland served as a certified legal intern for the Major Crimes Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office and worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Marcia G. Cooke in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She was also an editor on the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, a member of the St. Thomas University Moot Court team, and a student member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
A native of South Florida, Ms. Loveland graduated cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from University of Miami. Ms. Loveland is a member of the Admiralty Law Committee for the Florida Bar, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association. She resides in Jacksonville Beach, FL with her husband and two children.
