Robert W. Bucher, III, graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish, and attended Widener University Commonwealth Law School earning his J.D. Cum Laude in 2017. While at Widener Mr. Bucher served on the Executive Board of the Widener Law Review, was a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society, and President of the Environmental Law and Policy Society. Mr. Bucher worked as a student law clerk for the United States District Court in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and served as a staff writer for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Environment and Energy Law Newsletter Section before joining MSZL&M in the summer of 2017.
Mr. Bucher focuses his practice on subrogation and general casualty defense matters. Mr. Bucher’s work with MSZL&M’s subrogation group, a national practice, has allowed him to gain significant experience handling a variety of subrogation cases including workers’ compensation, property, auto, and environmental cases. Mr. Bucher concentrates his defense practice on property damages claims. In both of his areas of practice Mr. Bucher understands the complexities involved in working with both carriers and their insureds, and seeks results that make the most sense for his clients.
Mr. Bucher resides in Philadelphia. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, hiking, running, and training his 1 year old vizsla Oskar.

Mr. Bucher serves, pro bono, as a child advocate attorney for Support Center for Child Advocates in Philadelphia. Through his work with SCCA Mr. Bucher provides legal representation and social service advocacy to abused and neglected children and sibling groups in Philadelphia County.
