Ms. Cooper joined MSZL&M with extensive experience representing the insureds of one of the nation’s largest auto insurers, a regional transit authority and multiple local government entities. Her practice is currently concentrated in the areas of auto negligence, premises liability, negligent security, property damage, serious bodily injury, and wrongful death claims. She has been recognized by her clients for her effective yet efficient case management and has a demonstrated ability to evaluate claims and coordinate successful defensive strategies. She takes pride in her proficient handling of a large civil litigation caseload while preparing timely, structured reports on litigation developments to claims partners and insureds.
As a former Assistant State Attorney and criminal defense counsel, Ms. Cooper gained invaluable experience working with investigators, law enforcement, community resources, colleagues and court personnel to successfully prosecute or defend litigation. She was elected by the President of the Florida Bar to serve on both the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee and the Military Affairs Committee of the Florida Bar. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, the U.S. Middle District of Florida and is an accredited attorney for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Ms. Cooper graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Government & International Politics. After relocating to the Sunshine State, she earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and was honored to place first in the Robert R. Merhige, Jr. National Environmental Negotiation Competition.
She enjoys traveling, waking up early and living the Florida lifestyle with her husband and two daughters.
