Frank A. Whelan has been a litigator and trial attorney his entire career. He has tried over 100 cases combines civil and criminal cases.
Mr. Whelan developed and honed his trial skills as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, NY. Where he was a Major Offense Senior Assistant Trial Attorney. He handled Homicide, Rape, Robbery and Assault cases including media covered and pattern criminal incidents. Mr. Whelan functioned as a Supervisor directing police investigations and authorizing homicide and major felony arrests. He also helped train younger Assistants with trial advocacy skills.
Following his time as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Whelan transitioned to Civil practice as a lead trial attorney for a national insurance company. He administered major exposure cases for both liability and monetary damages issues in State and Federal Courts. Mr. Whelan served as the managing attorney for the long island trial division for the company. Mr. Whelan, was a co-founder of a small litigation firm and functioned as the lead/primary trial attorney for both civil prosecutions and criminal defense cases. Mr. Whelan also handled Appellate matters with responsibilities for authoring Briefs in support of contended issues and oral arguments before multiple Appellate Divisions in New York State as well as other jurisdictions.
