Another impressive win at trial for Sandra T. Carson of our Maryland Office!

On January 29, 2020, Sandra T. Carson, of our Maryland Office, obtained judgment  as a matter of law on behalf of a major retail client at the close of plaintiff’s case in a premises liability trial in which plaintiff sustained a fractured patella and other injuries as a result of a fall in our client’s store.  Plaintiff alleged that she slipped on an unknown liquid on the floor and that our client had negligently allowed the substance to remain on the floor without cleaning it up or giving an adequate warning to customers.  At the close of plaintiff’s evidence, Ms. Carson moved for judgment on the grounds that plaintiff had failed to establish the standard of care applicable to our client and any violation by our client of any such standard of care.  The motion for judgment was granted in favor of our client.
