Yamile Tamargo
Yamile Tamargo was born in Miami, Florida. In 2001, she obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami receiving a Double Bachelors of Arts in International Relation and Spanish with a focus in Development Economics and Latin America. Ms. Tamargo went on to St. Thomas University School of Law where she was on the Moot Court board, the editor laureate of The Federalist Society and a member of the Peter T. Fay Inn of Court. She received her Law Degree in 2004.
Upon graduation Ms. Tamargo served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Frank A. Shepherd at the Third District Court of Appeal of Florida where she researched novel legal issues, investigated cases and made informed recommendations to the Court. She continued her legal career in the public sector as an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County where she was responsible for prosecuting DUI, traffic, prostitution, possession, theft and battery cases. In 2007, she joined the law firm of Mintzer, Sarowitz, Zeris, Ledva & Meyers where she practices in the areas of insurance defense, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, products liability and Florida No Fault Law.
Ms. Tamargo is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida as well as the United States District Court for the Southern Districts of Florida. Ms. Tamargo is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Dade County Young Lawyers Bar Association and Cuban American Bar Association.
