John Van Dyken
John “Jake” Van Dyken joined the firm as an Associate in 2010. Mr. Van Dyken is a 1996 graduate of Bowdoin College earning a Bachelors of Science in biology with a minor in spanish. In 2001, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from New York Law School where he was a Senior Editor of the school’s Media Law & Policy Journal. During law school, he interned for the Division of Market Surveillance with the New York Stock Exchange where he assisted in the investigation of insider trading by NYSE members. Upon graduation, he served as a Judicial Clerk for Assignment Judge Robert Passero in New Jersey Superior Court, Passaic County. Mr. Van Dyken has worked as a civil defense attorney for the past eight years defending large insured and self-insured parties in all aspects of personal injury law including liquor liability, products liability and security negligence matters. Additionally, he has represented insurance agents/brokers, realtors and security brokers/dealers among others in professional liability matters. Mr. Van Dyken is admitted to the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania Bars. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and both its Casino Law and Torts and Insurance Sections. |
