Jennifer Karina Valentin was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was raised in Miami, FL. In 2004, she graduated from Boston University, where she received Bachelor of Arts degrees, with honors, in English and political science. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in 2007. While in law school, Ms. Valentin was an Article Editor of the CommLaw Conspectus: The Journal of Communications Law, and was a member of the Honor Board. She also studied International Human Rights Law in London and Barcelona during the summer of 2005 through the University of Miami School of Law's study abroad program.

Upon graduating from the Columbus School of Law, Ms. Valentin returned to Miami and began her legal career practicing insurance defense, focusing on general liability, nursing home defense, and premises liability. In 2010, Ms. Valenting joined Mintzer, Sarowitz, Zeris, Ledva & Meyers and continues to practice in the areas of insurance defense, construction litigation, premises liability, and general liability.

Ms. Valentin is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Dade County Young Lawyers Bar Association.
