Ramon E. Javier
Ramon E. (“Ray”) Javier is an associate in the firm’s Miami office. His practice is in all phases of civil litigation defense in the state and federal courts, and he concentrates in construction litigation, professional malpractice (architects and engineers), products liability, and premises liability. Mr. Javier was born in Elmhurst, NY in 1969. He attended Xavier H.S. in Manhattan. Thereafter, he attended New York University where he received an Associate in Arts in 1989 and a Bachelor of Arts in 1991. Mr. Javier received his Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Center in Huntington, NY in 1995. In law school, Mr. Javier was the Professional Articles Editor of the journal of the Suffolk Academy of Law. He also published an article entitled “The Federal Sentencing Guidelines – A need to restore the balance”. Mr. Javier first entered the practice of law in New York as a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society Criminal Defense Division. He later engaged in private practice in Manhattan. Mr. Javier relocated to Miami, FL in 2000. He was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County from 2000-2003. While there he was an assistant chief in the career criminal unit and prosecuted a myriad of matters, including homicides, armed robberies, armed burglaries and narcotics trafficking. Since 2003 Mr. Javier has exclusively engaged in civil litigation defense with an emphasis in construction site accidents and construction defect cases. He has represented architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and manufacturers in a myriad of cases to include design defects, mold, EIFS construction, plumbing defects, window defects, and roofing defects, as well as construction site catastrophic injury and death cases. Mr. Javier also has significant experience in premises liability matters. In his career, Mr. Javier has tried nearly 100 jury trials to verdict. Mr. Javier is admitted to practice law in New York, District of Columbia, and Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, United States Court of Claims, United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Mr. Javier is a member of D.R.I., and an Allied Member of the American Institute of Architects. He is also a former member and former vice-chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee “F” of the 11th Judicial Circuit.
