Richard A. Gash
Richard
A. Gash graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in
1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Upon graduation,
Mr. Gash was employed in New York City as a commercial lines underwriter in
the Special Commercial Accounts Division of Aetna Casualty and Surety
Company. He then worked for the American Home Assurance Company as a
Directors and Officers Liability Underwriter.
Mr. Gash received his Law Degree from New York Law School in 1975. He
became a staff attorney with the Insurance Services Office in New York City,
reviewing statutory and case law for their impact on the insurance industry,
drafting policy language and appearing in rate filing hearings before
various state insurance departments.
Mr. Gash then entered private practice in 1978 focusing his practice in
the broad area of Insurance Defense in New York City and Long Island. He
worked closely with major carriers such as Travelers, St. Paul, CNA, Cigna
and Crum & Forster. Mr. Gash then joined the house counsel staff of Aetna
Casualty and Surety.
Mr. Gash joined Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company as managing attorney
in 1989. He became one of the attorneys of Smetana Villani & Gash, managing
the New York City office. Mr. Gash practices in the areas of Labor Law,
Construction Litigation, Workers' Compensation, General Liability and Motor Vehicle Liability.
Mr.
Gash joined Mintzer Sarowitz Zeris Ledva and Meyers in March 2000 as
managing attorney of the New York office. Since joining the firm, he has
overseen the rapid expansion of the firm's New York office and capacity to
service clients in the New York City metropolitan area and adjoining
counties. Mr. Gash regularly lectures on a variety of legal and insurance
issues. |
